|
The SCC Super Z6 SZ135 winter traction product offers superior performance for cars, pickups, and SUVs with very limited operating clearance around the drive tires. Be ready for winter driving with an innovative solution that is a step beyond traditional tire chains. New Design Based on the "Z" family of products, the Super Z6 is designed for vehicles with restricted clearance around the drive tires. The Super Z6 requires only 6.33 millimeters (.25 inches) of sidewall clearance to operate, less than half the space required by most cable and tire chains.
The Super Z6 installs quickly and easily. View installation guide. |
Be prepared for driving this winter with Super Z6 traction systems. | A diagonal crossmember pattern provides better outstanding traction and durability than conventional chain systems. Easy to Install A split outside cable with two fastening positions allows for easy installation without moving the vehicle, so there's no need to stop and retighten. The traction coils are manufactured from alloy steel to increase the lifespan of the product. The Super Z6 is also designed to prevent scratching of alloy or high performance tire rims. Versatility The Super Z6 is available to fit passenger cars, pickups, and SUV tire sizes. It offers a unique combination of performance and convenience features for every user, including a "designed-in" rubber tightener, better all-around traction performance than conventional tire chains or cables, and greater durability. Designed for High Performance The Super Z6 has better compatibility with anti-lock brakes, traction control, all-wheel drive, and other electronically monitored control systems so as not to interfere with the normal handling characteristics of your vehicle. The unique design also offers a low potential for damage to vehicle body and mechanical components, even when abused. The Super Z6 SZ135 is designed for tires sized from approximately 195 to 255 millimeters. Check the manufacturer's website for the exact product to fit your tire size. Also check your owner's manual for clearance specifications before installing winter traction products. What's in the Box Chains, plastic gloves, one pair of rubber tensioners, durable, re-usable nylon bag, and clear, illustrated step-by-step installation and removal instructions.

Security Chain Super Z6, SZ135, Cable Chain for Passenger Cars, Pickups & SUVs customer reviews:
|
BUYER BEWARE: Bad product, incompetent manufacturer I bought the chains from Amazon and decided to try them on before I leave on my ski trip. Thanks God I did, because the chains didn't fit. I'm glad I didn't discover this on the road when I actually needed them.
Before I ordered, I checked what the correct size for my tires (205/50-17) is. I checked both the manufacturer's web site and the guide on Amazon's web site and ordered the recommended SZ127 model. Amazon sent me the correct chains, my tire's size was listed on chain's bag, everything was perfect but the chains were too small and they didn't fit. They were not even close to the correct size - maybe close to half the size of my tires.
If the company cannot get the most basic thing for tire chains right I highly doubt they are competent of creating a quality product. I would have given zero stars but Amazon doesn't let me.
Amazon's sizing guide is wrong My tire size is 225/65-17. Amazon's size guide says to order SZ135. These chains are too small. Another vendor has an online size guide that says SZ143, which is larger. Since Amazon made me order the wrong size, I cannot guarantee that SZ143 is correct. But SZ135 is incorrect.
sz135 fast and easy to install, only tried in the garage, did need to jack up the rear of car some, as there was not enough clearance to reach into fender to connect rear.
After 1 good experience, 1 bad After purchasing a set of these cable chains for another size tire on my wife's car, my wife and I were extremely pleased. The experience for my car on the other hand has been very disappointing.
My tire size is 215/60/16 which calls for an SZ-135 (straight from the horses mouth - the manufacturer).
Unfortunately we immediately noticed that this cable chain went on easy. Way too easy. Where my wife's car was easier than standard ladder type cables, this one was significantly easier than her set of super Z6's.
Not surprisingly, there is an SZ-135 on the side of the road somewhere between my home and the bottom of the hill we live on. It stayed on for exactly two days of driving (about 20 miles) in packed snow.
If you are able to clip the rubber hooks onto the cables without significant force be warned, the cable does not fit and may come off at speeds of only 15-20 mph. My wife can barely attach hers, and I have to really strain. Her's haven't gone anywhere and are in their second season.
Jury is still out Just received a set and tried them on my 2005 Jaguar S-Type. STRONGLY recommend everyone try these before the snow flies; it took a good 10 minutes to get the first one on the car. I have a gravel driveway, and it was impossible to swing the half chain behind the tire, so I had to fashion a hook out of a coat hanger. It worked, but just barely; I'll try to fashion something more sturdy before I get caught trying to put these on some cold wet night on the road. It also was difficult making the first connection at the top of the tire. Hooking the rubber retainer was something best done with gloves and required some significant hand strength (although unhooking later was easier.) Lastly, remember where the first hookup (the one on the top back) was in relation to the tire, because when you remove them, it needs to be IN THE SAME POSITION so you can reach it and remove the chains. Net, they fit OK, but won't be fun on that cold dark night; have warm, flexible gloves on hand.
