The CP9175 is the next generation of Actron Scan tools. The CP9175 has more features and benefits than other code readers on the market and is a major step-up from our very popular CP9135 tool. The CP9175 is trilingual (displays in English, Spanish or French) and easily links to your 1996 and later OBDII compliant vechicle, American and import cars and trucks. Large easy-to-read LCD screen allows you to view the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) and their descriptions as generated by your vehicles onboard computers, leading you to the trouble area. It displays freeze frame data ( snapshot of the operating conditions at time of fault),erases the DTC and turns off the Check Engine Light! I/M readiness test allows you to determine if your vehicle is ready for an emissions test. This is an excellent function to use prior to having your vehicle inspected for compliance to state emissions programs. All emission testing facilities will fail a vehicle which has the check engine light lit at the time of the test. It will also alert you to any pending DTC codes and reads the Malfuction Indicator Lamp status. The menu driven interface combined with "hot keys"allows for quick and easy use. Includes CD software that contains an additional 3,000 DTCs and their descriptions. The tool is internet updateable, accomodating future vehicles with the addition of the Actron CP9137 cable (sold separately).

Very satisfied
This code scanner works well on my 2006 Ford Taurus. It picked up some engine misfire codes and was extremely easy to set up. I'm very satisfied with this product. Overall quality is higher than what I expected.
well worth it
the Actron CP9175 is well worth the money. Here's my story - I have a 1998 F150 and my check engine light kept coming on. My brother has an auto scanner from Sears, an Innova which is ok but they say if you have to borrow somthing more than 3 times you should have one of your own. I payed $80.00 on Amazon. What a deal! I plugged it in to my Ford and it automatically found the problem. Now this is where people get discouraged. It gave a 0442 code-small leak in Evapor-so I went to my computor and typed in that code. Up popped a web site called OBD#2 trouble code site. Awesome! A Free trouble code site that tells you from the most common problems to the least common problems with lengthy/detailed explanations. Turned out to be my gas cap rubber gasket so I just wiped it down and that fixed it.
I do recommend this product. It's the best auto scanner on the market in this price range.

This item was ready to use right out of the box, easy to follow directions and paid for itself the first time.
Major Disappointment 
I purchased an Actron CP9175, which arrived with a totally dead battery - presumably, it had spent a long time on a shelf. I don't care to return it; the scanner seems to work fine when on the vehicle. But it's totally useless for off-vehicle functions, and there appears to be no way to recharge the battery. I would like to simply request that a new battery be sent to me. But I've scoured Amazon's pages until my eyes crossed, and can find no way to make that simple request - just the suggestion that, "if you have a problem with a product, try to contact the manufacturer." This is a vendor problem - not a manufacturer problem.
Can't beat the price!
Bought this for my dad who was having trouble with the check engine light coming on in both of his cars. I choose expedited delivery and it arrived as promised. He loves the scanner and uses it all the time. I checked locally for this scanner and the best price I could find was $150. So I am very pleased with my purchase.
